The
famous walls and towers that surround the Kremlin (
did you notice all the churches and buildings?) are the ideal
background for military drills and parades: this might become a habit, Im
afraid! Here below they work on three shifts to deliver the whole
set of bells, and Ivan is not a patient customer! To go
quicker,
they cast
them in aluminium: they are cheaper, lighter, and
faster to mould. Again, this is Italian technology: what good result
could we achieve without this Latin creativity? In the
construction yard of the church the activity is frantic. Ivan chose
to christen it Cathedral of the Intercession and dedicate it to
the Virgin of Kazan, but the Five Year Plan already stated that it
will soon have a new name: Saint Basil is more popular around here.
This church must be well insulated against this countrys bitter
cold, and must be nice, otherwise pictures will come out dull. Two
sophisticated plants produce foam panels with polyurethane, both for
isolation and decoration, which are immediately installed on the
building. The friends of the environment are already active
here, they keep saying that Freon cannot be used anymore to expand
foams, and make all sort of obstacles. We do not care, we do as we
like, and if other States have objections Ivan simply wont sign
their treaties, and its that simple!
In the social area, indeed, we are the most advanced: our workers have their rights, they can take a few breaks; chess-playing and a little soccer are not out of place, on the scaffoldings.
