You know how it goes: this grandeur costs a fortune, not to mention the Court of parasites that fills the mansion, some extra income is always welcome, so… Le Roi decided to open part of the Chateau to (paying) tourists. Multi-lingual guides lead their clients through the elegant gardens, fountains, ponds and woods that surround the Chateau for miles and miles. This place looks promising, from this point of view: people pour in by cart-loads, and the space is not enough to hold them all; a new parking lot will be required soon, around here, and Royal Engineers are at work already, plotting it in the woods. The tourist market is in full operation – le manger et les souvenirs are a classic ingredient of a French vacation, after all! But let’s keep things in order – till we can: peasants and noblemen belong to different places, and Royal Guards ensure a tight filter between them! The Parterre d’Eau – the two ponds in front of the King and Queen divided apartments – suffer from the…say… “heavy load” of human beings (toilets and bathrooms are still scarce, in the Chateau!) therefore a regular clean-out of the water is performed by a special purification plant, mounted on a modern vehicle driven by the same steam-propelled type of engine which pulls the Royal Chariot
