DISTRICT HEATING AND ENERGY SAVINGS A TRUE STORY
15-05-2009What could be better test for innovative and sophisticated new product than a continuous use on its own facilities where it is possible to check performance, reliability and ENERGY SAVINGS? BONO ENERGIA, which has always been fully dedicated to the best price/quality relationship of its products, together with cost management optimisation in the company itself, has taken the opportunity to replace one of its own boilers with
a high-efficiency unit intending, once in a time, to save itself own money!!! Mr. Giuseppe Boschetti, BONO ENERGIA Managing Director, enjoyed acting as a “customer” for the purchase of a boiler which brought tangible results to the company’s balance sheet. It goes without saying that there were both technological and financial challenges which would be verified personally and not through customer satisfaction surveys. Both the Research & Development team, and the Commercial Department, which set the challenge, were committed to the task. The results speaks for themselves: a few months later the installation of the boiler SM 400 2.7 MW CH4/ PA/ECO/CicLowNox/OptiSpark, and after the entire winter operation of ‘internal’ district heating (3 workshops buildings and one office totalling more than 30,000m2) the savings amounted to 15,500 euros on the company energy bill (usually more than 200,000 euros/year). The benefits obtained can be summarised as follows: Energy bill savings – certified average efficiency equivalent to 97% at maximum continuous load (flue gas condensation). Electrical energy bill savings – achieved through the installation of
inverters on the generator and the heat distribution network of the company. Monitoring and remote control from BONO ”All Round Service”, through
the Optispark system equipped with integrated AMEC modules for emissions, and SAFE modules for unattended operation. CO2 emissions saving, larger than expected (NOx less than 100mg/Nm3 at 3% of O2 in flue gas) and well below those stipulated by regulatory authorities for thermal power plant operation, due to the innovative CicLowNox SP combustion system. These results were certified by the internal inspection of BONO ENERGIA
Quality Control Department, which also demonstrated negligible plant shutdown or fault rate. The results were perfectly matching the project implementation protocols for the boiler standards granting full repeatability for all the customers available to select this innovative technology in their own projects. BONO ENERGIA showed, once again, that consistent, reliable and innovative companies can use economic and environmental sustainability as a key strategy to face the important market challenges of the twenty-first century.
