DIAGEO & BONO ARTES: a cocktail of quality and reliability

24-06-2010

DIAGEO, with its turnover of 12,9 billion Euro, is a leading company in the world's leading premium drinks business.
The company’s portfolio includes eight of the world’s top 20 spirit brands. These are Baileys, Guinness, J&B, Johnnie Walker, Gordon’s, Tanqueray, Smirnoff, Josè Cuervo, besides many renowned local brands.
The group is present in Italy with two facilities: Diageo Italia S.p.A. based in Torino and Diageo Operations Italy in Santa Vittoria d’Alba (CN).

Water is essential in most manufacturing processes and is the main ingredient in the production of beverages. For this reason, in whichever country the production is located, water must always comply with the high standards that the World Health Organization requires for water intended for human consumption and with the even more stringent requirements defined by the single producer.

BONO ARTES boasts extensive experience in more than 30 years of experience in providing solutions for specific problems related to water treatment in the Beverage industry.
It’s no wonder that leading companies in the premium drinks business operating in the domestic and world market have availed of the design skills and experience of BONO ARTES.

Thanks to their ability to find specific solutions for its own customers, BONO ARTES has designed, constructed, installed and commissioned on a “turn-key" basis, a water demineralization plant for DIAGEO SpA.
The plant, installed at the Santa Vittoria d'Alba (CN) production centre, is based on the ion exchange floating bed technology that allows a significant reduction in the consumption of chemicals for regeneration while guaranteeing extremely pure produced water.
The system is designed to treat a flow rate of 35 m3/h of raw water with continuous service and is composed of a dual chamber cationic column containing weak and strong cationic resin, a degassing tower and a dual chamber anionic column containing weak and strong anionic resin.
The plant is fully automatic and the complete cycle of operation is monitored and controlled by a programmable logic controller, which manages in sequence the various steps required through the contemporary command of all the utilities involved in any running phase.

DIAGEO’s choice in favour of BONO ARTES is a further proof, whenever water quality is critical for manufacturing process, of why such prestigious customers appreciate the values of reliability and security that BONO ARTES is proud to offer.
