The main activity for Linecross, with three factories in the UK located at Luffenham in Leicestershire, South Woodham Ferrars in Essex and Peterborough in Cambridgeshire,is in the manufacture of parts for the automotive and caravan industries. The Shelley machines are used to produce interior trim parts and exterior panels using a wide range of materials including ABS, HDPE, PP, PS and PVC. The consistent quality produced by the machines has assisted Linecross in obtaining ISO9000 quality standards along with Q1 accreditation from Ford and RG2000 accreditation from the Rover Group as first quality suppliers. For Ford, one of the main projects is the manufacture of the entire interior trim for the Ford Tourneo Minibus. The components are used in the UK for assembly of the vehicles at Southampton, as well as being exported to Ford assembly plants in Belgium, Indonesia, China, Turkey and Poland.

Linecross also manufacture the interior trim components used in the world famous London Black Taxi manufactured by London Taxi International (LTI). Thermoforming proved to be an ideal solution for LTI, being able to deliver attractive, hard-wearing and practical components at an economical price.

In the commercial vehicle area, Linecross have been supplying components to ERF for more than 25 years. The Olympic SP5A cab launched in July 1995 makes extensive use of vacuum formed components for the cab interior. This includes versions for both normal day operations and a luxury sleeper version for long haul operators. The parts include a rear panel, left and right hand cant rail including locker door, wardrobe, door and header stowage panel with two lockable lids. The transformation has been such a success that sales of Olympic cab vehicles have exceeded the original market predictions by more than 200% since their introduction.

For agricultural vehicles, Linecross supply complete tractor cab roofs to Massey Ferguson. The product has been designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and to provide adequate protection to the driver during use.
