Vertical Die-casting Technology

The die-casting process can still be applied for the production of parts for which the quality of the aluminium alloy used plays an important role as , for instance, cage rotors for electric motors. In general, but making a particular reference to rotors for refrigerator compressors, strict electrical and mechanical features (tolerances) are requested.

That’s the main reason for the development of tailor-made plants and equipment which take into consideration not only the lamination stacks preparation, their loading into the die but also all those technological innovations involved in the process.
Three main targets are to be achieved:

• Absence of porosity - therefore low impedance
• Dimensional tolerances
• Automation of the process

Cannon T.C.S. has been gaining experience in this field for more than 30 years and it has developed various ranges of machines and working stations especially dedicated to the production of small, medium and large rotors up to 140 kg aluminium per shot.
