Data Collection Software Package (DCSP)
The DCSP is PC software developed by Cannon, to collect, store and manage production data. The system has been designed for direct connection between the host PC and the machine PLC in order to achieve the fastest data transfer rate. Collected processing data is saved in real time by the system and automatically stored in indexed monthly production files that can be imported and easily manipulated using common office automation software.
Scheduled Maintenance Software Package
This package has been designed to help the Maintenance Team in keeping an automatic record of the most delicate periodical maintenance tasks. A complete list of jobs is available, which can be selected or ignored. For the selected tasks the system will monitor the current situation and warn the operator, or the maintenance staff, when it's time for executing a maintenance intervention. Personalised by operator and by task, the generated database informs the production management about the maintenance status of each machine, avoiding undesired production stops and optimising the interventions in the most suitable periods of time.
QI Analyst Statistical Data Analysis
Statistical data analysis can be carried out with the QI Analyst, dedicated software which can easily be interfaced with the Cannon DCSP. The most important indices measure the production quality, like Cp and Cpk which, once enhanced, can be displayed in graphic or diagram form. Thanks to this software for statistical analysis, the behaviour and the quality of the production process are constantly and efficiently tracked and controlled.

Mixing Head Handling System
The quality of the end product heavily depends upon the correct and precise pouring and distribution of the foam within the mould and foaming cavities. For this reason, Cannon have developed dedicated automatic mixing head handling systems based on Cartesian robots (with one or two movable axes and also available with one or two programmable pouring stations).
These handling systems are able to follow complex patterns with extreme accuracy and repeatability. Cannon Cartesian handling systems are driven by a proprietary electronic control supplied with an easy interface for the simple setting of all the production parameters, such as output and pouring values and for setting speed and acceleration ramps at the beginning and at the end of the patterns for obtaining accurate overlapping.
In order to meet the widest customer production needs and technical specifications and to offer increased flexibility to end-users, other integrated solutions are also available: in this case the mixing head is fitted on an anthropomorphic robot supplied by leading manufacturers.
Cannon Blowing Agents Premix Units
The gradual but consistent elimination of "hard CFCs" has driven the Polyurethane industry to find alternative methods for the expansion of urethane foams. Cannon has developed dedicated blending units able to work with different kind of blowing agents guaranteeing excellent processing and safety.
This premix is dedicated to meter and mix LBBAs (Low Boiling-point Blowing Agents) such as HCFC 22, HCFC 142b and HCFC 134a, which evaporate off at room temperature.
Multi EasyFrothTM and Penta EasyFrothTM
Multi EasyFroth allows the use of both gaseous blowing agents (i.e. 141b) LBBA and liquid Hydrocarbons. Penta EasyFroth is the Cannon patented premix solution developed to precisely meter and carefully mix flammable blowing agents such as Cyclopentane and Isobutane and other Hydrocarbons.
Liquid CO2 Metering Systems
Two patented solutions are available from Cannon for the precise metering of liquid CO2 into a Polyol, either directly in the head or premixed in the tank:
- CannOxide for the direct injection of CO2 in the mixing head, for medium to high levels of CO2 .
- EasyFroth™ for premixing medium to low levels of liquid CO2 either in the Iso or in the Polyol tanks.
Cannon Color System (CCS)
The CCS unit meters colour directly into the mixing head chamber of the Cannon FPL mixing heads, this gives a uniform distribution of colour within the product, and can be used with viscous colour pastes.
Air Nucleator Detector (AND)
Some Polyurethane applications require accurate metering of known quantities of air into the components streams. Cannon have designed AND a high reliable measuring system to determine the level of nucleation.
