Flexibility and Modularity are the Cannon Policy

The “A-System” is the result of Cannon's continuous machine development and design programs applying modular concepts and guaranteeing the maximum flexibility in machine configuration.
Cannon high-pressure metering machines are the right solution for the widest variety of applications and customer needs with a tailored design able to satisfy the most complex production requirements.

Cannon "A-System" 60 Basic

The open frame design of the machine makes maintenance operations easier with full accessibility to all the parts. Cannon's “A-System” is especially suitable for effortless interfacing handling equipment such as carousels, jigs, storage and premix units, automatic Cartesian and anthropomorphic robots, resulting in complete turnkey production systems.

The “A-System” series also includes solutions for production processes based on hydrocarbon blowing agents, multi-component foaming lines and plants fitted with multiple mixing heads.

"Modular contruction" concept involves the four basic elements of the machine: Storage tanks - Metering pumps - Mixing heads - Controls. Each section can be independently tailored upon a specific production requirement, in terms of size, configuration and performances. Combining these dedicated elements a "complete system" is obtained, for a solution that - only to provide an example - could be composed by three storage tanks for components (for one Iso and two Polyols), a double metering section (4 or 6 pumps) and four mixing heads to be mounted on a double arm manipulator.

Temperature Control System

Cannon “A-System” models have been designed to ensure accurate and constant control of the component temperatures, which are kept uniform inside the tank by a dedicated circuit configuration based on the combined action of: jacketed tank, water chiller, heat exchangers, electrical resistances and mechanical stirrer.

Metering Module

Considering outputs, chemical characteristics and the necessity to accurately dispense them, the Cannon “A-System” is equipped with high pressure, highly efficient axial piston pumps, which are able to process complex formulations.

Using its vast experience in metering Polyurethanes, Cannon have developed a dedicated series of high-pressure pumps with fixed and variable output capacity. Cannon pumps have been successfully recognised worldwide as an economical, reliable, effective and accurate alternative to other models on the market.

The output setting on a Cannon “A-System” machine can be achieved in different ways:

1. manual adjustment by means of a calibrated hand wheel;
2. automatic adjustment by changing the motor speed through a frequency inverter.

Mixing Heads

The Cannon “A-System” machines can be equipped with any of the high pressure mixing head range currently available, which cover an output range from 10 g/s up to 8,000 g/s and can also be used for fast reacting Polyurea systems.
