Additional Components
Cannon high-pressure mixing heads allow additional liquid components (blowing agents, catalysts, stabiliser, etc.) to be dispensed by means of high-pressure pumps. These material streams are generally fed into the Polyol circuit through a gauge block immediately prior to the Polyol dispense port. In this way, the additive is mixed first with the Polyol in the jet and then with Isocyanate in the mixing chamber.
Self-Cleaning Piston Stroke Limitation
By means of a special mechanical adjusting device, it is possible to limit the stroke of the self-cleaning piston. The resulting restriction of the connection between the two chambers, increasing the turbulence, improves the mixing whilst maintaining the laminar flow at the outlet.

Self Cleaning Piston Stroke Limitation
This device is recommended to improve mixing efficiency when working with particularly viscous components.
RE.CO. System (REmote COntrol of Pouring Pressures)
For those applications requiring consistent output variations with the same mixing head (and without operator intervention) the mixing pressure becomes the critical parameter to be controlled. To solve this problem Cannon developed the RE.CO. System ( REmote COntrol of component pressure). It is a hydraulically-operated, closed-loop control system allowing for the control of position of the injection aperture in order to keep the mixing pressure constant during output variations.
Mixing Head Handling System
The quality of the end product heavily depends upon the correct and precise pouring and distribution of the foam within the mould and foaming cavities. For this reason, Cannon have developed dedicated automatic mixing head handling systems based on Cartesian robots (with one or two movable axes and also available with one or two programmable pouring stations).
These handling systems are able to follow complex patterns with extreme accuracy and repeatability. Cannon Cartesian handling systems are driven by a proprietary electronic control supplied with an easy interface for the simple setting of all the production parameters, such as output and pouring values and for setting speed and acceleration ramps at the beginning and at the end of the patterns for obtaining accurate overlapping.
In order to meet the widest customer production needs and technical specifications and to offer increased flexibility to end-users, other integrated solutions are also available: in this case the mixing head is fitted on an anthropomorphic robot supplied by leading manufacturers.

On standard machines, the mixing head can be vertically and/or horizontally mounted on a turning arm assembled on the machine frame or on a separate stand-alone support. In order to obtain the easier and more flexible mixing head positioning towards the requested foaming axis, the system can be also supplied with a dedicated device to cross over vertical to horizontal position.
Hardened GroovesAvailable for all distribution spools, it is strongly recommended for filled materials. The needle and nozzle present on the mixing head, have a special surface treatment to protect them from abrasive materials during the pouring phase.
