Group Profile

Welcome to Cannon!
The aim of this homepage is to illustrate the Cannon Group’s various Units and their activities.

Who is Cannon? An international, independent Group supplying worldwide a wide range of industries with dedicated engineering solutions. Main fields of activity are currently Plastics Processing Technologies (for Polyurethanes, Thermoplastics, Composites and Thermoforming), equipment for Energy & Ecology, Aluminum Die-casting machines, Industrial Electronic Controls.

Founded in the early 1960's with the goal of manufacturing dispensing machines for Polyurethane foams, Cannon has soon reached the leading position in its market and extended its field of activities to other fast-growing sectors of the industry.

Diversifying into synergistic fields - within and outside the plastics processing technologies - Cannon offers today a wide series of products and services to the industrial manufacturers: in addition to a complete range of plants and machines for continuous and discontinuous processing of Polyurethanes (manufactured in Europe and in the USA) the Group supplies equipment for thermoforming, composite materials, industrial electronics, Aluminium die-casting, industrial boilers, special heating ovens, and water treatment plants and solutions for the protection of the environment.

A wider range of industry-dedicated solutions - for a wider range of industrial end-users - is today available at Cannon!

Culture

Independence, Innovation, Internationality are the three I's that characterize and have contributed to the success of this dynamic Group.

Independent, privately own, managed by the founding families, never linked to suppliers of chemical raw materials or to other financial or industrial conglomerates, Cannon has succeeded solely based on dedicated, ingenious solutions, marketed through an international network of Locations and Agents, capable of providing prompt local service to its customers.

Innovation is propelled by a strong Research & Development mentality, and by a level of R & D investments close to 5% of the Group’s total turnover. More than 350 patents have been filed by the Group in over 40 years.
This continuing effort has generated new tools and methods for manufacturing industrial goods which combine favorable economics, high productivity and respect for the environment.
Among others, the replacement of Ozone-depleting chlorinated blowing agents with more environment-conscious alternatives has significantly reduced the ecological impact of this industry.
As a result, in 1999 Cannon was awarded the
Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award by the US Environmental Protection Agency, and in 2002 Dr. Carlo Fiorentini - Cannon Founder and Chairman - has been inducted by the American API (Alliance for the Polyurethane Industry) into the "Polyurethanes Hall of Fame". This honour awards him for a lifetime of innovative processing developments: Dr. Fiorentini is the fifth member of the Polyurethane community to receive the prestigious nomination, and is the first representative on the machinery side of this industry.

International presence - through a network of wholly-owned Locations and independent Agents located in developed and developing countries - has always been a strategic "plus", enabling us to guarantee prompt local service, spare parts availability, laboratory usage for machine evaluation, along with technical advice and consultancy.
Today you can find a local Cannon Group's representative - dealing with one or more lines of products - in more than 40 countries. The largest offices carry spare parts and technical service, and many of them have machines ready for delivery and a laboratory for trials.
